Simmental Cattle at 7B Farmstead
Functional, maternally driven Simmental and SimAngus females built for longevity, fertility, and real-world performance.
7B Simmentals is focused on developing balanced, structurally sound cattle with strong maternal foundations and long-term productivity. Our herd includes registered and percentage Simmental females sourced from elite seedstock programs and selected for calving ease, docility, efficiency, and durability in pasture-based systems.

Our Simmental Program
At 7B Farmstead, our Simmental and SimAngus program is built around function, fertility, and longevity — not single-trait extremes.
Our cattle are selected using Allied Genetic Resources’ Right Choice and Right Mate tools, allowing us to evaluate multiple performance traits simultaneously while maintaining balance across calving ease, growth, maternal strength, and efficiency.
Our herd consists of females sourced from proven seedstock programs and developed to thrive in real-world commercial environments.

Balanced, Maternal Genetics
We focus on maternally driven females with the structure, fertility, and milk production needed to build profitable cow families.
Docile, Easy-Handling Cattle
Disposition matters. Our cattle are selected for calm temperaments and ease of handling.
Built for Longevity
Strong feet and legs, sound structure, and functional udders support long, productive lives in pasture-based systems.
Real-World Performance
Cattle retained in our program must perform beyond the spreadsheet and thrive in practical production environments.

Breeding Approach

Genetic Evaluation Tools
All females are evaluated using Right Choice and Right Mate to ensure balanced selection across calving ease, maternal traits, growth, and efficiency — avoiding genetic extremes.
Intentional, Data-Driven Breeding
Every mating is planned with long-term functionality, maternal strength, and herd consistency in mind. Our breeding decisions prioritize Calving ease, Maternal strength, Structural correctness, Docility, Longevity, Balanced API and TI values.
Simmental Embryo Program
We currently have Simmental embryos implanted in the herd from the following matings:
WBF Grace × WS Marvel
Hook’s Yankee × Rockin’ Captivate
These embryos represent elite maternal and performance genetics selected to strengthen udder quality, structure, fertility, and longevity.
An additional 10 embryos are scheduled for implantation this spring, further building depth and consistency within the herd.
Bred for Performance
We breed for fertility first, structural soundness, udder quality, calm disposition, and long, productive lives. Our program uses artificial insemination and selective breeding to continually improve genetics while prioritizing health, function, and temperament.
