Katahdin Hair Sheep at 7B Farmstead

Hardy, efficient, pasture-raised sheep producing clean-tasting, high-quality lamb.

At 7B Farmstead, our Katahdin hair sheep are raised for hardiness, efficiency, and exceptional meat quality. This breed thrives in pasture-based systems and aligns naturally with our focus on low-input, functional livestock.

Our Katahdins are developed to perform in real-world grazing systems, producing mild, clean-tasting lamb while remaining easy to manage and resilient in varied conditions.

Farm-Raised, Milk Fed.

Our Katahdin sheep are raised primarily on pasture and selected for: Strong maternal traits, parasite resistance,  ease of management, adaptability to rotational grazing systems.

As a hair breed, Katahdins do not produce wool or lanolin, which contributes to their mild, clean flavor and eliminates the need for shearing.

Their efficiency, resilience, and grazing ability make them an excellent fit for our farm and climate.

Grass-Based, Low-Input Production

Katahdins thrive on pasture and perform well in grass-based and rotational grazing systems.

Clean-Tasting Lamb

Because they are a hair breed, Katahdin lamb is known for its mild flavor and tender texture.

Hardy, Functional Genetics

We select for resilience, maternal performance, and low-maintenance efficiency.

Adaptable & Easy to Manage

Katahdins perform well across a wide range of management styles and environments.
