About 7B Farmstead

7B Farmstead is a family-run farm located in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana, focused on producing high-quality food and functional livestock through pasture-based, low-input systems. Our operation brings together dairy, livestock, and on-farm processing with an emphasis on animal health, thoughtful management, and long-term sustainability.

Our background includes more than 17 years of experience in raw milk dairy and artisan cheesemaking. That foundation continues to guide how we manage our Jersey cows, creamery, and livestock today. Our dairy cattle are raised with access to pasture during the grazing season and are supported with balanced rations during the winter months to maintain health, body condition, and consistent production. In addition to dairy, we raise Simmental and SimAngus cattle, Katahdin hair sheep, and milk- and barley-fed pork. Each enterprise is managed intentionally, with a focus on calm handling, sound genetics, and animals that thrive in pasture-based systems. We manage our own artificial insemination program and utilize embryo transfer to build depth and consistency across our herds while maintaining strong maternal foundations.

Our on-farm creamery produces small-batch dairy products made exclusively from our own milk. Production is intentionally limited to ensure quality, cleanliness, and consistency. From aged cheeses to fresh dairy products, our focus remains on traditional methods and careful handling rather than scale.

Products are sold directly to customers through scheduled delivery routes, designated drop points, and limited on-farm pickup. All sales are handled by pre-order through our online store, allowing us to manage inventory responsibly and maintain clear expectations.

At 7B Farmstead, we believe good farming is built on stewardship, transparency, and restraint. Whether food or livestock, our goal is to produce products and genetics we stand behind for the long term.

Our Farming Practices

We prioritize management practices that support animal health, soil health, and long-term productivity. This includes rotational grazing, careful forage management, and a focus on nutrition and environment rather than intervention-based systems.

Health and productivity are supported through nutrition, environment, genetics, and daily management rather than routine chemical or pharmaceutical intervention.
